Hi, I’m Sophie Lee Taylor (Sophie Cairns).

I used to be a journalist for several years, first in Hong Kong, then Shanghai and Paris. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, but I now call the Highlands of Scotland my home. Since 2009, I’ve raised over $18,000 for cancer research from climbing mountains and other events. I love the mountains, the water, skiing, languages, travel, and live music.

The aims behind the Seven Volcanoes Project are simple – to raise funds for cancer research and raise awareness of esophageal cancer. I lost my Dad to esophageal cancer in 2008. His sudden passing pushed me to climb mountains to raise money for cancer research.
